Dear Forum, We are trying to connect an IoT Sensor from a leading manufacturer to the T-Mobile using nb-iot. It seems that we need the T-Mobile to whitelist our IP addresses and also to get our MQTT message broker approved/whitelisted also? The simcards are active and visible in the portal but no sign of life. The device is configured and showing signals are being transmitted (from local LED). Any ideas? We have been calling the phone numbers and sending emails to T-Mobile but no answer yet - so thought I would try here for help. Many thanks, Dan & David at MEUNGO

@rijsman Hi. There is no whitelisting as far as I know. Traffic from your NB-IoT device can only go to your cloud application using the CDP as a proxy. This means the device will never talk to your application directly. You can register your application environment via your profile. Note that this is only HTTP(S), MQTT is not supported.

@stefan-de-lange Thanks for the fast reply. I will now dive into those tasks, but I want to be 100% sure of your abbreviations. What is CDP in your meaning? I see many abbreviations with CDP - but I prefer to know yours 🙂 Thanks and second question is would you or someone be willing to join a quick conference call with me and the device maker to try and resolve this? After 3-4 weeks of trying, we really need to get the right people talking to get data coming into the T-Mobile platform and visible on our platform. THanks!

@stefan-de-lange So I tried to check the application environment in our profile which is the API credentials page, I guess? And it all seems OK. Still not messages coming from the devices (no payload or last message etc…). Any other ideas? We continue our search…What about linking the T-Mobile nb-iot simcard to our nb-iot plan? How is that done? Any chance or possibility for T-Mobile to check that please?

CDP = Connected Device Platform (see CDP)

I can. But note that I am not in any way affiliated with T-Mobile so anything backend specific I can not help you with since I do not have access to it. Maybe @Eric-Barten is available? Otherwise I can help you setup the connection, just send me a message on LinkedIn (also Stefan de Lange).

@stefan-de-lange Hi Stefan, I think Eric Barten is on holiday. I cannot reach him by email, phone or text in the last 2 weeks. I did not know you were not T-Mobile! However, I will contact you as networking with skilled people is good for all concerned. Thank you!

@rijsman I can see 3 Stefan de Lange on LinkedIn - any clues as to which one is the real one?
