Looks like I overpromised here… I am very sorry.

Last year we’ve been discussing the upgrade of our Service Capability Server many times internally. And initially the installation of the generic CoAP adapter was part of the overall upgrade plan in each of these discussions.

However, for some reason it was deprioritized when we started the upgrade.

The upgrade will be finished in April and bring along new protocols as MQTT and LWM2M but unfortunately not generic CoAP.

Tagging my colleagues @Roalnd-Baldin and @Saher-Salem to see if we can come up with a new timeline.

@IoT-Arista Interesting combination. You are right, nRF9160 requires a very different development strategy. It uses Zephyr RTOS and c-api’s to control the cellular modem. In my opinion it is much better to work with than the ancient, slow, outdated AT interface. But if you want to use AT commands on nRF9160 you still can:

If you don’t want to redesign you should contact SIMCOM and t-mobile ( @Eric-Barten ) to fix your issue

@sopwafel You could, but be aware of using PSM and expected latency. Your device might be sleeping again before it had the chance to receive a downlink message. I don’t know if it’s possible to use in combination with the T-Mobile CDP but you might want to take a look at LWM2M and CoAP. These protocols have acknowledgements build in.
