Deutsche Telekom is working intensively alongside standardization bodies such as 3GPP and GSMA. 3GPP Rel 13 specifications have been finalized in June 2016, Rel. 14 in June 2017. The respective features will be subsequently implemented into devices and networks. For the next important steps and the roadmap, Deutsche Telekom is in intensive exchange with suppliers and customers.

While the DT’s NB-IoT roadmap still remains part of our internal planning, we share the latest updates in the Announcements. Visit the document library to get more information on feature availability and network configuration in DT’s footprint.

We already run pilots with numerous customers, including both large industry players as well as smaller innovative startups. Examples are energy service provider Ista, indoor climate specialist Itho Daalderop, railway maintenance specialist Dual Inventive and sensor maker Smartsensors. Several other customers cannot yet be officially stated as reference. Moreover, we protoype and develop NB-IoT-based solutions with around 20 partners of the NB-IoT Prototyping Hub Program.

Currently we do not have a wholesale offer for NB-IoT.

NB-IoT services on Deutsche Telekom’s live networks are currently available in Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Greece, Slovakia, Croatia and North Macedonia.
In the Netherlands, Austria, Slovakia, Croatia, Greece and Poland a nationwide coverage has already been achieved, with Germany being close to finalization of the rollout, covering today >98% of the population.
