In April an announcement was made roaming would soon be available in 19 countries ( https://www.telekom.com/en/media/media-information/archive/mobile-iot-roaming-goes-live-across-europe-598700 )
Is there any update on this? i only see 9 countries listed on https://iot.telekom.com/en/connectivity/business-smart-connect/lpwa-tariff-details

As usual with these corporate press releases, this is just an annoucement indeed…
The availibility of NB-IoT roaming on Deutsche Telekom IoT simcards depends on a few things:
- The formal process between Swisscom, Telia, Vodafone and DT needs to be completed
- Local DT unit (T-Mobile Poland, Telekom Deutschland, T-Mobile Netherlands etc.) needs to ready to provide roaming simcards
But the simcards that we provide at iot.t-mobile (soon to be iotcreators.com) already have the right profile to roam in 18 countries! We’re currently testing it and we can use some help here.
For now these countries are confirmed:
Austria
Croatia
Czech Republic
Germany
Greece
Poland
Slovakia
Spain
Switzerland
The Netherlands
United KingdomCurrently we are testing in these countries:
Italy
Norway
SwedenLooking for testers in:
Denmark
Finland
Hungary
Liechtenstein -
Czech Republic is confirmed!

iotcreators.com shows even a few more, the full list there at the moment is:
Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Liechtenstein, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, The Netherlands an United Kingdom.looks like we’re getting somewhere! Norway and Belgium are on the top of our wishlist at the moment
-
United Kingdom confirmed as well!
-
@rhalflex
Belgium is not part of the current roaming deal, but we hope to have it with Orange Belgium before 2021. -
I can confirm that roaming is also working in Greece!

Hi
When will iot services be available in switzerland ?Thanks
Gp -
@Gpontaro Roaming should be possible in Switzerland as of now. We are still testing it, but it should work. Do you already have SIM cards from us and would like to test it?
-
Hi no sims now.
I am interested in LTE-M service ?
If available in switzerland where can i find plan, tarifs and sonon …Thanks

@Gpontaro At the moment our IoT Access solution is using NB-IoT connectivity only, but we investigate if there is a demand for LTE-M use cases. I saw that you signed up on our form inquiring about LTE-M. Thanks! We will get back in touch to those registered on the form as soon as we have an update on that, but at the moment we unfortunately don’t have LTE-M in any countries available (regarding our IoT Creators Access solution).

@Florian-Duecker
LTE-M or CAT-M1 is one of the access technology that will be used for smart meetering in switzerland. Nb iot parameters are not enough for smart meetering needs.So why not activate catM1 ?

@Gpontaro Needs are different for different use cases. NB-IoT has also some advantages over LTE-M e.g. when it comes to battery-saving capabilities. As said, we are currently collecting our users feedback about LTE-M and if we see that there is enough interest in our community. However, I’m a bit surprise about the smart metering use case. For me smart metering is a perfect use case for NB-IoT. We also have some community members who are using our solution for this specific use case, e.g. take a look at: https://iotcreators.com/en/portfolio/smart-parking-sensor/
As this post is about NB-IoT roaming, I would love to bring this conversation to some place else. I’m really interested to hear why you would think that NB-IoT is not sufficient for smart metering. If you like, please create a new forum post or send us an email with you metering idea, so we can learn a bit more about it.

May I suggest you also take a look at our central FAQ page for NB-IoT Roaming?

Hi, I just wondering if there’s a special trick to get the Dutch cards working in Germany. Since I make it with a bigger antenna to overcome the poor NB-IoT coverage and get DT as well as Vodaphone listed I’m still not able to connect. On an at+cops=1,2,“26201”,9 I got a “no service” back. If i ask why (at+cereg?)it says access denied… I configured the roamservice to 255 what is automatic - how ever after a cops command if falls back to 1 what means no roaming. Does anyone have an idea what that could be?
THX

@Andreas: Hi, you should be able to use the card with PLMN 26201. Can you send me your ICCID at hello@iotcreators.com or via chat here in the forum? Then I can check if you have roaming enabled. And have you check if NB-IoT is available at you location? https://iotcreators.com/en/coverage-eu/

Hi Florian, THX for the fast reply. the Number is removed by admin .

I needed to changed your roaming profile. This will take about a day for activation. I hope this will do the trick. Keep us updated.

@Florian-Duecker THX - I will keep you updated…

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to start playing around with SIM from the starter kit and my dev-kit.
Unfortunately Slovak Telekom is coming up as Forbidden and I cannot register on the network.
Any advice on what to do to get it working please?
