I notice that LTE/M is mentioned occasionally, and there is an entry in the documantation on how to get started with the LTE/M starterkit, but what next ?
I have several questions which I cannot find the answer to (or maybe they are there, and I just cannot find them.)

      • Do I need separate SIM cards for LTE/M, or can I use my existing NB-IOT ones?
      • How do I get the LTE/M data to my own server ?
      • I understand the LTE/M functionality is not yet in the dashboard and is sheduled for next year, but can I manage my subscriptions manually using the API ? And if so: How ?
      • Are multiple LTE/M stations even supported, or is it currently limited to 1 for the starterkit ?

        Hello @Cees-Meijer

        • for me the SIM card provided with the NB-Iot starterkit also worked for LTE-M
        • to connect to my own server I used this APN: m2m.public.nl
        • I don’t think the dashboard is required when connecting to your own server
        • don’t know, but I guess the starterkit is limited to one station independent of the technology (NB-IoT or LTE-M) used

        Thanks
        Felix

          Hi @fm and @Cees-Meijer , yes that’s correct what @fm explained.
I want to add something for the 3rd question: you can’t get the data of LTE-M connected things via webhook/API yet. We only offer this as as a starterkit option at the moment as a trial.

@uta Thanks. That was indeed one of the thing I was wondering. So I need to treat this more as a ‘GSM’ replacement than an NB/IoT alternative.

@cees-meijer we plan to offer LTE-M in 2 flavors in the future:

                • replacement for GSM with communication over public APN without any middleware layer in between module and your servers - AVAILABLE NOW
                • alternative to NB-IoT with secure communication and access to data via webhook through IoT Creators platform (for this one we need a new component in our backend and still investigate the customer needs that helps us with proper planning) - FUTURE
