NBIoT Roaming

Hi Eben,
I activated roaming for your SIM cards.
Please set the APN cdp.iot.t-mobile.nl explicit on your device (e.g. with command AT+CGDCONT or AT+QCGDEFCONT)

It is great to see roaming is getting traction in EU and already it is working in many countries technically. It will simplifies the production and billing management much easier to have the same SIM on all devices. Most of the use cases (some mentioned here e.g. smart metering) will be static devices and this means also that they will be in roaming permanently. Will permanent roaming will be an issue for those devices? I am thinking specially with the non local DT MNO’s?
-
Whether a SIM card is able to permanently roam in another country depends on various conditions such as use case scenario, business model or actual country of operation.
We are unfortunately not able nor permitted to issue legal advice or perform legal counsel services to customers, and therefore always recommend to seek the services of an appropriate legal expert consultant.
You may nevertheless contact your Telekom account or sales representative to discuss your specific project details. As part of the project realization, the regulatory environment will be taken into account jointly with you.Best regards,
Ronan

Is there a EU coverage map available?
-
Hi, the only thing that that I know of are these individual coverage maps right here: https://iotcreators.com/en/coverage-eu/.
@Ronan-Lacroix: Do we have anything else beside that available?
-
The GSMA offers a “Mobile IoT Deployment Map”. You can click on a country and see various information per technology type e.g. which operator deployed that network type and even URL’s of the operators’ maps for that country (if the MNO made it available). GSMA is improving and enhancing it continuously.
